Longest Running Philadelphia Airport Shuttle
There’s a reason why Rapid Rover is the longest running Philadelphia Airport shuttle for local travelers. We provide fast, affordable, and 24/7 PHL airport shuttle service to residents throughout the Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey. We’ve been in this business for over a half a century now, and our courteous and professional drivers serve over a quarter of a million customers every year.
The Rapid Rover Shuttle operation got its start back in 1972, as a division of Joseph McFadden’s Metro Cab Company, a company he purchased and ran along with members of his family. Metro Cab had bought ten passenger vans to transport special education students, and the vans turned out to be the ideal vehicles for transporting local residents to and from the Philadelphia Airport.
The Rapid Rover service was an instant success and was gaining market share every year, enough to acquire ICC authority and extend the service to all of South Jersey. In 1981, Rapid Rover moved their offices to the Airport Industrial Park in Pennsauken and acquired the Sunoco service station in Audubon to service and fuel the vehicles. Through hiring our own mechanics and having our own source of fuel and service, Rapid Rover controls costs and keeps the fleet safe.
Eventually the rest of the Metro Cab taxi business was phased out in order to provide additional Rapid Rover services to customers, including service to Amtrak’s 30th Street Station in Philadelphia and the Atlantic City International Airport. This change also enabled Rapid Rover to offer direct service to customers, who wish for a faster ride with no additional stops.
Our continued efforts to improve our service and give our customers a dependable, affordable and safe ride to PHL is what has made Rapid Rover the longest running Philadelphia airport shuttle. Contact us today and see what makes us South Jersey’s #1 transportation company.
